The Switch Me Black in Pinstripe capsule collection was inspired by Janelle Monáe’s powerful 2025 Met Gala appearance, which honored the legacy of The Black Dandy—a cultural movement rooted in style, resistance, and self-expression. The collection began with a bold pair of wide-leg pants featuring black-and-white pinstripes, red panels, and gold-trimmed faux patch pockets placed on one side for an asymmetrical twist. It now includes three coordinating cropped pullovers—one in classic pinstripe with a single faux pocket, another in a bold, abstract swirl pattern with double pockets and contrast sleeves; and another in pinstripes and checkerboard. A pair of striking cargo joggers follows, showcasing checkerboard accents, curves, stripes, and dots that create a visually dynamic statement piece. The newest addition is a pocketed long maxi skirt that blends all the capsule’s signature design elements into a sleek, everyday silhouette. 

All six pieces are made from a midweight, wrinkle-resistant eco-poly athletic wear fabric and designed for effortless movement. This collection is not only a tribute to the Black Dandy tradition—it is also a reflection of Anita Davenport’s own heritage and creative roots, combining cultural storytelling with fearless modern fashion.
