Cleveland Chronicles: Inspiration and Art at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Event
This October, I spent a transformative week in Cleveland, Ohio, where creativity and inspiration collided in the best possible way. The highlight of my trip was participating in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Pre-Ceremony activities as part of the exclusive gifting suite. For three days, I mingled with legendary celebrities like Sharon Osbourne, Mary J. Blige, Busta Rhymes, and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, sharing the story of my wearable art brand, SingleTree Lane, and gifting them some of my favorite designs. The experience was thrilling, to say the least, but the magic of Cleveland extended far beyond the event itself.
Exploring Cleveland’s Cultural Treasures
I flew in early to make the most of my time in this vibrant city. The first two days were spent diving into Cleveland’s cultural and natural gems. At the Botanical Gardens, I strolled through stunning displays of flora from across the globe, and the serene ambiance set the tone for my trip. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum offered a deeper dive into the music legends celebrated during the induction event. I also visited the Aquarium, where the aquatic exhibits provided a peaceful counterbalance to the excitement of the upcoming event. The Museum of Art was another highlight, with its diverse and captivating collections leaving a lasting impression and sparking creative ideas. I especially loved the sections housing Christian antiquities.
After three whirlwind days at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Pre-Ceremonies, I dedicated Sunday to exploring even more of Cleveland before catching my evening flight. My final stop was a return to the University Circle area, where I spent hours wandering through its beautiful streets and campuses, including Case Western Reserve University and the Contemporary Art Museum.
A Creative Awakening
The Contemporary Art Museum turned out to be a pivotal moment in my trip. I arrived to find the space empty except for five staff members, giving me the rare chance to fully immerse myself in the exhibits. One piece in particular captured my imagination: Cartoon Folding Screen II by South Korean artist Lee Nam Lee. This five-channel digital artwork with sound was an extraordinary blend of motion, storytelling, and layered visuals. It reignited a creative spark within me, reminding me of the boundless possibilities in art. Lee’s work was so impactful that I became an instant fan, eager to learn more about his artistry.
Inspiration Transformed Into Wearable Art
Returning home to the Bay Area, I channeled the inspiration I found in Cleveland into creating six new Art Nouveau-inspired designs for SingleTree Lane. Each piece reflects a facet of the city’s beauty and the artistic energy that enveloped me during my trip:
Ghost of Wade Lagoon: A serene design inspired by the lagoon on the Museum of Art’s grounds. |

A Week to Remember
Cleveland was more than just a destination; it was a source of inspiration that reignited my artistic spirit. From the thrill of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony to the quiet, reflective moments at the Contemporary Art Museum, each day brought a new layer to my journey as a designer.
As I boarded my flight back to the Bay Area that Sunday evening, I felt deeply grateful for the experiences that shaped this trip. Thank you, Cleveland, for the memories, the creativity, and the spark that led to my latest designs. You’ve truly left your mark on me and my art.
